Coming of Age Ceremony
Hi Tribe,
I am researching the rites and culture of our people, in order to put togther a binder of information to teach children ages 9 through young adulthood on the Mainland about their people. I am creating components in the areas of Education, Language Aquisition, past rites of passage (and present ways to accomplish those rites in today's society), and ceremonial customes. If anyone has information or resources that you think might be worth including, please do share them and I will review them. When I finish I will publish a manual or binder for post modern Tainos who want to use this type of hands on learning experiences to educate current and future generation with the main goal of perserving or hopefully reviving what is left of our people's culture.
Hello,
In terms of our tribes history and language you alot is covered in books authored by our Kacike. You can find them on Amazon.
